About Fujifilm Recipe Parser
A simple tool to decode the film simulation settings from your Fujifilm photos.
What It Does
Upload any SOOC (straight out of camera) JPEG from your Fujifilm camera, and instantly see all the film simulation settings that created that look—including film simulation mode, dynamic range, grain effect, color chrome, white balance, and more.
Once parsed, you can download a beautifully designed recipe card, perfect for sharing on Instagram or saving for your own reference.
Important: Unedited Photos Only
This tool works only with unedited JPEG files directly from your camera.
When you edit a photo in Lightroom, Photoshop, or any other editing software and export it, the original EXIF metadata containing your Fujifilm film simulation settings gets stripped out or overwritten. The new file only contains basic camera information, but loses all the specific recipe data—film simulation mode, grain effect, color chrome settings, and other Fujifilm-specific parameters.
That's why the parser needs the original, untouched JPEG straight from your camera's SD card. This is the only file that preserves the complete recipe information embedded by your Fujifilm camera.
Why It Exists
As a Fujifilm photographer, you've probably experienced this: you find an amazing recipe online, load it into your camera, but then tweak the settings while shooting. Later, when you're reviewing photos on your phone, you can't remember exactly what settings created that perfect shot.
This tool solves that problem. Your JPEG files contain all the EXIF data about the film simulation recipe used—this app simply extracts and displays it in a clear, shareable format.
Current Status
This is a beta version. The core functionality works—upload a photo, see your settings, download a recipe card. But there's more to come.
Planned features:
- Save and organize your favorite recipes
- Compare multiple recipes side-by-side
- Build a personal recipe library
- Community features for sharing discoveries
Technical Notes
Built with modern web technologies, this parser reads EXIF metadata directly from Fujifilm JPEG files. No upload to servers—everything happens in your browser for privacy and speed.
